another sunrise, another day

I had the most horrid sleep last night, went to bed at about 2am and woke up EVERY 2 HOURS! I was so angry especially since I was so tired, and I have 10am classes so I was really annoyed at myself. But I suppose everything happens for a reason, even a lack of good rest, because at about 6ish, or maybe it was 7am, I woke up to the most magnificent glow in my room from my partially drawn curtains, and when I drew them back, it took my breathe away. Nature is so amazing, we take so much from it but it still gives. I don't go to church anymore, but at that moment I truly believed it to be God's work. And then I fell back into bed, and slept for another 2 hours before I woke up to get ready for class. My tutorial has been cancelled, so it's a better day now isn't it! <:

have a good one! (p.s the photo is completely unedited!)

paper boats

It's gonna be full steam ahead this long weekend, trying to vomit (womit) out at least 4000 words before I leave for Melbourne on Thursday to spend time with my brother plus friends in melb. And when I get back it'll be a mad rush to start on and finish another essay. The thought of pounding away at my laptop nonstop is enough to make me wanna cry. Positivity! More Tokyo photos, though I think these will be the last I post for awhile.

disneysea!!!
After years and years of whining about not going to Disneyland/DisneySea despite going to Tokyo EVERY YEAR, I finally got to go this time! With my sister and my half-jap cousin, Shogo! YAY! My other cousin Keigo was supposed to come as well, but he (as always) threw a tantrum and bailed that little douche.
Shogo reading the map. We changed trains (unnecessarily so) like 5 TIMES!
Now the sad thing about DisneySea is that there is no Cinderella's Castle!!! Oh woe. But the rides were pretty fun, Indiana Jones, Mystery Island, Some other roller coaster thing... plus the chillax stuff in the Mermaid Kingdom or something... and the best and most scary one was the Tower of Terror! Really liked that one, but screamed until I lost my voice teehee
I had Minnie Mouse Apple Ice Bar! It was yummy and I was freezing.
One of the staff used a broom and water to draw! Hahah we just stood there in awe.
Shogo trying to be Rocky Balboa
At the end of the day the sun was setting and we were starting to freeze! Shogo only wore a blazer because it was so sunny in the day and I had to lend him my scarf and whip out my new beanie heehee
I wore: boots from HK, black rat tights, f21 singlet, cheap monday jumper, houndstooth coat from a random shop in sydney, f21 beanie in mustard, disney couture ring (since I was in Disney!) and miumiu bag
This is the photo they caught of us on the Tower of Terror hahah we're on the right, screaming like crazy
A really cute little girl! Her mother tied the balloon to her little ponytail and was laughing at her wandering around cuteness
After this we went to have dinner at a Tabei Ho Dai (don't know if that's right, but basically its an eat all you can shabu/sukiyaki place, we were so hungry we inhaled everything). Apparently Lost in Translation was filmed here, but I don't remember seeing it when I caught the film...
Random photos:

A really cool Audi Showroom/Building in Shibuya, right smack in the middle of a busy shopping street! Damn cool methinks.

Harajuku station outside the Meiji Dori Shrine/Park, which is the nearest station to where we stayed. Super central and always always bustling.
Cutest dog ever. It was just staring at people go buy on a busy street at peak hour.
This cool building in Shinjuku somewhere has a CASTLE ON TOP OF IT! How awesome is that right?!?!?

you got the love

More photos from Tokyo! I'm really missing it, the long days and the good quality Japanese rice heehee. Especially since I'm back in Sydney and its slowly but surely melding into Autumn and Autumn will quickly meld into Winter. Daylight savings is now over and the days are getting shorter shorter, so boo to you! But no matter, I'm in a good mood today because while I was heading home in Uni after class I walked by the Old Teacher's College (where they make old teachers, no just kidding), I head someone playing the piano in one of the Halls upstairs, and I just sat down on the grass in front of the building and did nothing but breathe and listen. Good way to end my day, I'd say (yes I rhyme heehee). So because I'm in a good mood, I shall spread the love ☀☺❤✌

The most amazing crab meat spaghetti I've had! At a restaurant at the edge of Shinjuku called Trattoria Tanta Bocca (which to me sounds more Japanese than Italian but the food is good!)
Walked to Shinjuku Park where there's an entrance fee of about ¥200 for maintenance and what not
Me and my sister! I have about a bazillion of shots like these but I shan't be narcissistic and post them all
matchy stockings heehee

it looked like it was snowing cos the cherry blossoms were starting to fall, and we couldn't catch it on camera so me and my sis tried to recreate it by grabbing them off the floor and tossing them like confetti. I'm obviously more excited about this. hahah
My momma and poppa ♡
Dinner that night was spectacular. The park closes at 4pm so we walked around Shinjuku looking at gadgets and food and got hungry early, so ended up eating Teppanyaki at one corner. Can't really remember what the restaurant was called but it was amazing.

This was abalone with a herb butter sauce and some yummy mushrooms!
There was lobster somewhere, but I ate too fast and didn't get a picture. But here is a picture of my family going straight to hell. Haha kidding! It's a flambe obviously, where they splash some kind of liquor on the steaks (I think it was brandy or something dark coloured) and light a match and ask you for your camera to take a snapshot for you. Cute, touristy, but cute!
This is the best melt in your mouth beef ever! It's domestic Japanese beef, which is apparently really expensive because its so good. They call it black cow, which is a really high grade cattle.
Fried rice which was really neatly pressed into rectangles! With cubes of fat (oh so sinful) from the steak sprinkled on top.
Dessert was a spring fruit cocktail in the shotglass, green tea pudding and Sakura Icecream with a berry compote, complete with a sugar swirl. Too pretty to eat, but I did eat it anyway. Heehee!
And that is the end of Sakura day! Even more to come...

wouldn't it be nice

Back from Tokyo and transiting in Singapore for a day before I head back to Uni (eugh), and it was a much needed break, plus good time with my parents and sister. I have a ton of work to do before I begin Uni again on tuesday, but I'm gonna take advantage of the incredible internet in Singapore and upload photos before I go back to being stuck in the land of bad internet (aka Australia) <: PICSPAM ALERT.

Day ONE
dad very glamourous, using my luggage as his footstool, waiting to get on the Narita Express
amazing train trolleys filled with snacks and drinks
The shiniest rice you will ever find. They weren't exaggerating when they said Japanese rice is the best in the world.
Super market heaven
Day TWO
headed to Isetan in Shinjuku for some shopping, and they hire people to direct traffic. Asian efficiency 150%
Dinner was at my favourite crab restaurant, where everything is crab-related!
